Practice ethos/philosophy:
Practice expectation of registrar:

The Registrar is expected to operate under the supervision of the relevant consultant on the day. They are expected to be able to handle minor cases without the need for referral to the supervisor, for example, a review post-surgery where there are no complications. All other cases are required to be run past the consultant. The Registrar is expected to formulate a plan prior to discussion with the consultant who will either agree to the plan or suggest alternative.
