Don Medical Clinic is a general practice committed to delivering quality evidence-based health care that is consistent, multidisciplinary and collaborative with a focus on early intervention and prevention. The clinic strives to be a safe, non-judgmental hub of learning and teaching that promotes mental and physical wellness, creating a health care home for the staff, students and patients.

Practice expectation of registrar:

Our practice has developed a team-based approach to Health care management. We require Registrars who are keen to be involved in a team and utilize the strengths of other members of the practice including our Nursing staff and admin staff as well as other GPs in the practice. We promote preventative health, early intervention and assertive follow up.

To develop an interest in the practice and local communities.

Information about town and facilities:
Our practice moved to new purpose built premises in April 2018. We are located next to an independent Pharmacist and a local independent Supermarket, renowned for its produce and its coffee!

Devonport is the largest city on the NW coast of Tasmania. We are a population of about 25,000 of varied socio-economic status. We have access to many visiting services and specialists. Currently our CBD area is undergoing a revamp to encourage investment in our community. We are the home of the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry, offering daily service to Melbourne

Our Area has great sporting facilities including Basketball, netball, tennis, hockey Football, Soccer to name just a few.   We have a local airport that flies several daily services direct to Melbourne (only a one hour flight).  We are only an hour away from Cradle mountain and other areas for great Walking trails and have several wineries and award-winning food producers within our area.

Devonport is a great place to live. It is accessible, It has a relaxed lifestyle, affordable housing and the ability to live on a few acres within 15 minutes from the CBD
