ACCOUNTANT

General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) is a not for profit organisation federally funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health, to deliver the Australian General Practice Training Program and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services and based in Hobart, this part time position will primarily be responsible for:

  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly balance sheet, profit and loss statements.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts and other reporting requirements in line with annual external audit requirements.
  • Working closely with the Director Corporate Services to develop a consultative budget, periodic review and reporting for the CEO, Board and Executive.
  • Fortnightly review of payroll.
  • Assisting Finance Officer and review of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Preparation of monthly BAS return.
  • Ensuring all financial management processes are guided by relevant statutory, accounting and audit standards.

The successful applicant will have a university degree majoring in Finance, Business (Accounting) or Commerce ideally with CPA, CA qualifications. They will show initiative and integrity working constructively and effectively in a team environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive and continuous improvement approach are essential.

General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) is responsible for the delivery of high-quality general practice vocational training within Tasmania.

GPTT is seeking doctors who have a passion for medical education.  As a medical educator you will have a valued role as part of our nationally accredited vocational training program.

We are interested in GPs available to conduct Training Plans and interested in medical education. The time commitment from medical educators can be varied according to individual circumstances.
