This exciting casual position will be based in the North and/or North West of Tasmania and will be a member of our education team that implements both the AGPT and PEP general practice vocational training programs in conjunction with GP supervisors in Tasmania. The role requires liaison with the deputy Director and Director of Education and Training to support registrars and PEP participants, deliver educational resources and activities and participate in practice visits and accreditation activities.

Guidance and support is provided by the Senior Medical Education team, including a regional senior Medical Educator. This position description should also be read in conjunction with the GPTT Medical Education Team Handbook.


To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that applicants possess the knowledge, skills and qualifications together with the requirements as outlined in the position description. 


  • Highly developed conceptual understanding of the nature of general practice;
  • Awareness of the Vocational Training Standards of Australian GP Colleges.
  • Awareness of the Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPTP) training policies and framework.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a professional team;
  • Understanding of educational principles and methods of teaching and learning;
  • Ability to work in a self-directed role.
