PGPPP Pre-vocational General Practice Placements Program
A General Practice Taster
The PGPPP offers a wonderful opportunity for Resident Medical Officers
(RMOs) at the Royal Hobart Hospital to get a taste of general
practice.
GPTT has entered into arrangements with the Royal Hobart Hospital
(RHH) and the Sorell Medical Centre for RMOs to do a 3 month
attachment in general practice. This opportunity is available
for 1 RMO during each hospital term to work and train at Sorell.
The doctor will remain employed and be indemnified by the RHH.
They will join the general practice team at the Sorell Medical
Centre and experience the remarkable variety and interesting
work that general practice has to offer.
The Sorell Medical Centre is a leading General Practice in Tasmania with patients from urban and rural areas, with the semi-rural setting ensuring the PGPPP doctor would get a wealth of experience. The training offered at Sorell would be valuable for junior doctors going into any specialty, but especially for those interested in general practice.
For more information about PGPPP and the training offered by the Sorell
Medical Centre please contact Dr
Nick Cooling, Acting Director
of Training.
Please contact Sarah Hallam or Alison Guinan, Acting Team Leaders,
Medical Staffing Unit, Royal Hobart Hospital.
